Role of the Canadian Federation of Students

The Canadian Federation of Students was formed in 1981 to provide college and university students with an effective and united voice. The Federation represents over 500,000 college and university students at 86 students' unions across Canada, with more than 300,000 members in Ontario. The Federation was founded on the principle that "education is a right" and that educational opportunities should be universally available to all students.

The Canadian Federation of Students is not a party to this legal action and is not providing financial support for this case. However, as a network of students, the Federation is committed to supporting those efforts that protect and promote the rights of students.

The Federation has agreed to assist and support the Representative Plaintiffs and their legal counsel in bringing the proper media, government and public attention to this legal action.
